This was the message of Mayor Cris Garbo to his constituents during Monday's flag raising ceremony at the city hall.
During the event, the mayor also announced his plan to add 22 more to the city's existing 10 hemodialysis HD machines during his next term as local chief executive.
The additional HD machines will serve more Mabalaqueños who are in need of dialysis treatment, Garbo said.
“Dahil sa dami ng mga lumalapit sa akin na kailangang magpadialysis, nais kong dagdagan pa ang mga machines natin, kung maari hanggang 32 machines ang gusto ko na magkaroon sa ating dialysis center,” Garbo said.
The city government's current treatment facility located in barangay Sapang Biabas maintains 10 dialysis machines at present.
Garbo said adding 22 more units will increase the treatment sessions to 96 cycles per day.
In his first term, the city mayor helped 388 patients get dialysis treatment plus medicines.
“Sa kabila nito, nais ko pong ipaalala sa ating mga kababayan na ingatan natin ang ating pangangatawan upang maiwasan natin ang mahantong sa pagkadialysis,” the reelected mayor reiterated.
Garbo said he is also planning to put up a wellness center in the city.
“This will be the first in our city that is dedicated for the wellness of our women, complete with mammogram, ultrasound and birthing station,” he added. End ok
