Zamboanga health office Covid-19 response commended

ZAMBOANGA City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has recognized the efforts of the City Health Office (CHO) in responding to coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

Salazar presented during the flag ceremony in City Hall Monday, May 30, to the CHO personnel the various citations that the CHO received recently from the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF), Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Salazar noted that through the CHO, the city ranked first among the local government units (LGUs) with the highest safety seal compliance; the city achieved 92.31 percent of the total target population with full vaccination status and 94.31 percent of the senior population with full vaccination status as of May 14.

Zamboanga City was also recognized for its exemplary efforts and invaluable commitment in implementing the Covid-19 response and recovery measures or the Prevent-Detect-Isolate-Treat-Reintegrate strategy.

Salazar likewise acknowledged the contributions of other City Departments that led to the recognition of the city with highest safety seal compliance.

Meanwhile, Salazar also presented the DILG recognition for the city's outstanding implementation of the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP) resulting in 2,773 rehabilitated illegal drug users, one of the highest from year 2017 to 2022.

“This was made possible by the members of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Cadac),” she said. (SunStar Zamboanga)
