Magpadayon ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa ilang gihingusgang kampanya batok sa ilegal nga drugas bisan kon si Presidente Rodrigo Duterte, kinsa nangu sa programa, mokanaug na sa katungdanan, matud pa ni PNP officer-in-charge Vicente Danao Jr.
Si Danao niingon nga ilang irekomendar nga ibalhin ang focus sa drug war ngadto sa pagsanta ug edukasiyon aron mapugngan ilabina ang kabatan-onan nga malambigit sa ilegal nga drugas.
“Yes, definitely, the war on drugs, our PNP will be relentless and this will be a no letup campaign on the war on drugs... I know that they will continue the war on drugs but if possible we will be more on the prevention and education sa ating mga kabataan,” matod ni Danao.
“We would like to revive that because that is more of the prevention and education para ma-prevent natin ‘yung mga bata na umiwas o sabihin talaga no to drugs, yes to God and yes to sports... So we will be focusing more on the reduction and usage. So kung kaya natin hilahin lalong lalo na ‘yung mga would be victims of these illegal drugs, then doon ang ating focus rather than on the solution itself,” dugang niya.
Matod ni Danao nga makig-alayon usab sila sa Department of Health (DOH) ug local government units (LGUs) aron banhawon ang rehabilitation program alang sa mga drug abuser.
Matod niya nga nahunong ang programa sa miaging duha ka tuig tungod sa coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
Sa sayo pa, si President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. niingon nga giawhag siya ni Duterte nga ipadayon ang drug war sa nasud sa iyang kaugalingong paagi. (TPM sa SunStar Cebu)
