547th Engineer Battalion marks 37th anniversary

ZAMBOANGA. The Army’s 547th Engineer Battalion recognizes its skilled personnel for exemplary performance of duty as the battalion marks its 37th founding anniversary on Friday, May 27. ZAMBOANGA. The Army’s 547th Engineer Battalion recognizes its skilled personnel for exemplary performance of duty as the battalion marks its 37th founding anniversary on Friday, May 27. THE Army’s 547th Engineer “Agila” Battalion has recognized its skilled personnel for exemplary performance of duty as the battalion marked its 37th founding anniversary on Friday, May 27, 2022.

Those accorded with recognition for their exemplary performance that outshine and contributed to the accomplishment of unit mission are the following: Sergeant (Sgt.) Ronilo Zamora, best plumber; Corporal Ninnielle Tingga, best carpenter; Private First Class (PFC) Jeosua Stiff Bagsican, best electrician; PFC Aljun Cabug-os, best welder; PFC Ruben Quize, best mason; Staff Sergeant Jonard Limos, best mechanic; Technical Sergeant Filbert Apostol, best foreman; and, Sgt. Ernel Dalangin, best enlisted.

The Battalion’s Charlie “Cobra” Company received the award as the Best Company Of The Year.

The 547th Engineer Battalion also distributed plaque of appreciation to all stakeholders who have been its partners in implementing the government’s peace effort through Executive Order No. 70, which stimulates economic and social development in its area of operation.

Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Pambid, 547th Engineer Battalion commander, encouraged and recognized the untiring efforts of “Agila” troopers in attaining the laudable accomplishments of the unit.

Pambid said he is proud and confident that they can sustain their steadfast commitment and continue to be part of the legacy of the Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao (Zampelan) builders.

“Let us continue to cultivate the culture of discipline, professionalism, and excellence in serving the people and securing the land,” Pambid said.

“I challenge each one of us to exert more effort, aim higher and pray more for it is by the grace of the Almighty that we live to fulfill our purpose as the engineer soldier. Let us sustain our painstakingly hard work of this unit in the coming years of service for our nation,” he added.

“As you unveil another year, I encourage you to renew your zeal, maintain your sense of duty and responsibility, and guarantee your commitment to pursue peace and development for the people we serve and protect,” said Colonel Randy Fajilagutan, 54th Engineer Brigade commander, the celebration’s guest of honor and speaker.

“Whatever the changes we may face in the future, let us remember that it is our job to remain in the best shape as a unit to reach its mission. Continue to overcome the challenges ahead while undertaking Nation Building in your area of operations as you distinguish yourselves as the strongest, smartest, and the Most Outstanding Engineer Battalion under the Western Mindanao Command,” Fajilagutan added.

The 547th Engineer Battalion’s 37th Founding Anniversary is anchored on the theme: “37 years of making difference towards peace and development amidst the challenges of time.”

The celebration was held at the battalion’s headquarters in Kuta Dao, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur. (SunStar Zamboanga)
