GIKANAYON ni Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos) Mayor Al David Uy nga ang pagpalabang sa balaudnon nga nagpalapad franchise area sa AboitizPower subsidiary Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) ngado sa Davao del Norte makatabang sa turismo sa isla.

Gisulti sa mayor nga ang di maayong suplay sa sugang dagitabnon ug inprastraktura nakaapekto sa Samalenyos sa miaging mga panahon.
"Our poor power supply and poor power infrastructure have held us back and caused a lot of suffering to our people," pagtataw niya.
Matud ni Uy nga mahimo na silang "to look forward to a brighter future" ug ang lokal nga panggamhanan andam nga makigtrabaho sa DLPC sa paghatag og stable power supply.
Ang balay balauranan nagpalabang sa ikaduhang pagbasa sa House Bill (HB) 10554 (Committee Report No. 609) o ang "act expanding the franchise area" sa DLPC sa AboitizPower subsidiary nga naglakip sa Igacos, Tagum City, Asuncion, Kapalong, New Corella, San Isidro, ug Talaingod sa Davao del Norte. Kini nga mga lugar kasamtangang ilawom sa Northern Davao Electric Cooperative (Nordeco).
Ang HB 10554 gipangamahan ni Palawan Representative Franz Alvarez, Committee on Legislative Franchises chairperson, uban sa mga Mindanawon Representatives nga naglakip nila Davao del Norte Representative Pantaleon Alvarez, PBA Partylist Representative Jericho Nograles, ug Camiguin Representative Xavier Romualdo. Giisponsoran sab ni Manila Fourth District Representative Edward Maceda ang maong balaudnon.
Sa Senado, ang HB 10554 giisponsoran ni Senadora Grace Poe samtang si Senador Ralph Recto nagsilbi isip co-sponsor.
"We thank our representatives in Congress for fighting for us. We thank our fellow local government leaders who stood beside us and fought with us in securing better service and cheaper electricity for our people," matud niya.
Ang mayor tataw sa iyang mga pagkadismaya sa kakuwang og aksiyon sa Nordeco sa pagtubag sa ratational brouwnout sa isla.
Samtang ang Nordeco sa ilang opisyal nga pahayag nga giisyu niadtong Martes sa gabii, Hunyo 1, nagsulti nga ang ilang kooperatiba magpadayon sa pag-operate bisan pa sa paglabang sa balaudnon kay ang ilang prangkisa mapupos sa 2028 pa alang sa Davao del Norte, samtang sa 2033 sab alang sa Igacos.
"[It] shall continue to operate as the distribution utility under its franchise coverage area and shall continue to operate as the distribution utility under its franchise coverage area and shall continue to implement projects and programs to avoid unnecessary disruption of power supply and services in the Provinces of Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte," matud sa electric cooperative.
