LAWMEN have arrested two couriers and seized some 1.5 kilograms of suspected shabu worth P10.2 million in an anti-drug operation in the province of Sulu, the police reported Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
Police Colonel Richard Verceles, operations chief of the Area Police Command-Western Mindanao (APC-WM), said the two drug couriers were arrested in an anti-drug operation launched against an alleged big-time drug suspect, Shadri Mar, around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the port in Walled City village, Jolo, Sulu.
Verceles said Mar remain at large as the latter was not around when the joint team of policemen, soldiers, and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency-9 launched the anti-drug operation.
Verceles identified the two arrested drug couriers as Alnasir Ismun and Al-amin Sahipa.
He said that seized from them were some 1.5 kilograms of suspected shabu packed in one big and 10 medium-size heat-sealed plastic sachets with an estimated worth of P10.2 million.
He said that also recovered from the suspects were two cellular phones, two identification cards, a scooter-type motorcycle with ignition key, 18 bundles of P1,000 boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 marked money placed in a plastic bag.
He said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
