Pangan: All's well that began well

THE WINNING Uniteam of Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., and Sara Duterte-Carpio was a well-oiled, well organized campaign effort and it turned out to be successful. No stone was left unturned, ika nga and the fruits of victory are well visible.

Now the picking on who's to complete the Cabinet for the incoming administration has begun and the search for the best and the brightest to man cabinet posts has started in earnest. Those selected so far received favorable response from the public and business groups.

Former Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin Diokno was to head the Department of Finance vice Carlos G. Dominguez III.. To replace him will be Philip Medalla and Alfredo Pascual of UP will become Department of Trade and Industry chief vice Ramon T. Lopez while Arsenio Balisacan was called back to head the National Economic and Development Authority. This seems to be a very formidable team as there is so much to recover for the economy.

Atty. Vic Rodriguez, Marcos Jr.'s chief of staff has been appointed Executive Secretary vice Salvador Medialdea and Rose Beatriz "Trixie" Cruz-Angeles was named Press Secretary replacing Martin Andanar.

Previously, VP elect Sara was chosen DepEd Secretary, Susan "Toots" Opla for the Department of Migrant Workers, Benhur Abalos for DILG and Rep. Juan Crispin Remulla as Department of Justice chief replacing Menardo Guevarra.

Already, Marcos, Jr., is facing some criticisms over his partiality to "select" media outlets-GMA 7, Sonshine Media Network, Inc., and Net 25 to the exclusion of other media outlets which expect limited media access to the new president..

On the issue of West Philippine Sea (South China Sea), Marcos, Jr., remarked that his administration will not give up any part of the Philippine coastal territory to foreigners, including the bully China.

Hey, Mr. President, sir, what about those shoals already claimed by China and has, in fact, established permanent structures therein? What could you do to retrieve them when your two predecessors (Aquino III and Duterte) were helpless despite the International Arbitration Court ruling in our favor?

Can you make good your boast, Mr. President? Just asking, sir.
