SWEDISH homeware brand IKEA is holding a three-day exhibit at the SM City Pampanga this weekend.

The exhibit, which can be found at the Main Entrance Parking A of SM City Pampanga, features two container vans transformed into tiny houses and furnished with products from IKEA Philippines.

Ikea brand is known for selling ready-to-assemble and modernist design of furniture, kitchen appliances and home accessories, among other goods and home service at an affordable price.

According to IKEA Pasay Store Manager Georg Platzer, the exhibit aims to showcase the products and services of IKEA to people of Pampanga and Central Luzon.

“We decided to come to Pampanga to showcase our capabilities and talents and furnishings small home. These tiny houses are just around 12-square-meters and we are able to transform it into a liveable space,” he said.

Platzer added that they have chosen SM City Pampanga as venue of their exhibit as it is the capital of Pampanga and among the commercial center of Central Luzon.

“San Fernando is a capital of so many things. Capital of Christmas, capital of food, capital of nice and friendly people and it’s also a huge and rich area and we want to be closer to Filipinos and this is one way of doing it,” he said.

The IKEA exhibit at SM City Pampanga runs from Friday, June 3, until Sunday, June 5.

Aside from viewing tiny houses, visitors can also avail of free registration to IKEA Family Club and enjoy the famous Swedish meatballs and iced tea.
