TWO children were killed while two others were wounded in an explosion Friday, June 3, 2022, in the province of Zamboanga del Sur.
Police Colonel Diomarie Albarico, Zamboanga del Sur police director, said the explosion, believed to have been cause by an unexploded ordnance, took place around 12:30 p.m. in Purok Malipayon, Diplo village, Kumalarang.
Albarico said the two fatalities were eight and six years old boys. Injured were a 13-year-old girl and eight-year-old boy.
Albarico said they have yet to determine the type of explosive that was found and tinkered by the children before the explosion.
He said policemen of Kumalarang town are conducting in-depth probe over the incident. (SunStar Zamboanga)
