A DEAD male infant was found floating in a pond at Barangay Punta Taytay in Bacolod City on Sunday morning, June 5, 2022.

Major Junjie Liba, commander of Police Station 9, said the infant placed inside a white plastic bag was discovered by two concerned citizens who were gathering seashells.

Liba said that the baby was wrapped in a white cloth while its umbilical cord is still attached.

He noted that the mother possibly left the baby in the area early in the morning.

“So far, we have no suspect yet and we are still gathering more information to determine the identity of the mother who may face charges,” Liba also said.

The police official said the dead infant was immediately turned over to the Barangay Health Center for proper burial.
