THE Philippine Army’s 43rd Infantry Battalion held a joint turnover ceremony for company commanders and battalion staff officers at the headquarters in Lope de Vega, Northern Samar.
“Expectations are high that we can accomplish our mission within the given timeline; so, let us focus on our mission,” said Lieutenant Colonel Manuel Degay Jr., battalion commander, on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
“Let us consolidate our actions, and work strong as effective and efficient that the Nortehanons and Samarnons within our operational reach can truly be proud of,” he added.
First Lieutenant Herminio Salazar assumed as commanding officer of Charlie "Crusaders" Company, while Second Lieutenant Raymund Casibang assumed the position of commanding officer, Delta "Defenders" Company.
The officers took over the helm from previous company commanders who finished their stint by reaching the maximum years from the said position with flying colors, according to the Army.
On staff duties, First Lieutenant Brandon Gerald Castro assumed as the new intelligence officer; First Lieutenant Elisha Casiano, new logistics officer; and First Lieutenant Ranil Pigon, signal officer and permanent representative to the Regional Special Operations Task Group Cagasmas-Shield in Calbayog City.
The officers are former company commanders “who were rated fit to assume battalion staff duties for their career advancement.”
The outgoing company commanders and staff officers also received Military Merit Medals Letters of Commendation “for their remarkable performances and contributions in the accomplishment of the unit’s mission.”
The ceremony was witnessed by head of the Lope de Vega Municipal Police Station, along with barangay officials of Bonifacio, Getigo, San Miguel and Curry in Lope de Vega, and Dawo and Oquendo District in Calbayog City. (SunStar Philippines)
