THE City College of Davao (CCD) has been encouraged to offer demand-driven courses by the Davao City Acting Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte.

According to the City Government of Davao Facebook page, Vice Mayor Baste said that the CCD “should offer demand-driven courses that will equip its graduates to be globally competitive in their respective fields” during the executive committee meeting on June 2, 2022, at the Davao City Hall.

Recently, CCD is set to offer the Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Bachelor of Mechanical Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship courses based on the conducted feasibility study.

Previously, the CCD OIC President, Fred Cagape said they are considering adding Business Administration, Bachelor of Science Education (Science and Math), and Bachelor of Elementary Education (Science and Math) if they will be able to comply with the requirements demanded by the Commission on Higher Education (ched).

CCD was supposed to open in 2020 but due to the continuing threat of the Covid-19, the Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio decided to postpone it and moved it either last year or this year.

The institution is targeting to accommodate 1,000 students who are from low-income families and working students on its opening this August 2022 as the enrollment will start in June 2022.

Also, CCD warned the public on any information circulating on social media that's not from the official Facebook page of the institution. They also said that the enrollment will be announced soon.

Meanwhile, the temporary campus is located at the Seminary School in Barangay Catalunan Pequeno, Davao City and the permanent campus will be established in a 5-hectare property of the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) near the University of the Philippines-Mindanao (UP-Mindanao) in Bago Oshiro in Mintal, Tugbok District.
