The Prime Movers Logistics-Eagles put on an incredible offensive show as they put up a whopping 178 points in their lopsided 178-78 beatdown of the Cheetahs in the Elite Basketball Cebu Season 18 last Saturday at the Casals Gym.
Undermanned but never lacking firepower, the five-man squad of the team of businessman and sportsman, Mark Ynoc, fired on all cylinders to shatter the previous team scoring record of 151 points previously held by the Hogs. The win was also the Eagles’ ninth in 10 games, placing them firmly at the top of the standings.
Forward John Villabrille was sensational as he tallied 60 points to go with 25 rebounds, and six assists.
Janjan Auditor was equally impressive, if not even more so, as he produced a triple-double of 59 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Former Cebu City Sharks forward RJ Dinolan also had a triple-double of his own, tallying 31 points, 20 boards, and 12 assists.
Meanwhile, the Cebu Sherilin Trading-Bears kept within an inch of the league leaders as they routed the Vipers, 118-85, to improve to 8-1. Darylle Tan had 21 points and 10 rebounds even as Carl Valencia filled the stat-sheet up with 16 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, to go with a steal and a block.
The Gothong Shipping Lines-Rhinos also slipped past the Sure Cleaning Solutions-Hogs, 125-120, in overtime. Shane “The Game” Menina took over late in the game, sinking one clutch shot after another to push the Rhinos to their seventh win in nine matches.
Menina piled up 49 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds, and three steals, while Ruben Ludovice produced 29 points, 16 boards, and five assists. JD Solitario also chipped in 18 points, five boards, and three steals.
The Raptors also took down the Aneda Builders-Falcons, 87-83, to bump their record to 6-4. Kevin Oleodo had 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Jules Langres flirted with a triple-double of 17 points, 10 rebounds, and nine dimes.
And finally, the Wolves upended the Bulldogs, 113-99, thanks to Jeslar Larumbe’s stellar performance of 34 points, 12 boards, seven assists, and four steals.
