CARCAR City's number two most wanted person fell into the hands of the authorities on Sunday at 5:30 p.m., June 5, 2022.

Bryan Tabora Santillan, also known as James Ryan, 31, of Sitio Bonbon, Barangay Ocaña, Carcar City, was attending a fiesta celebration at the house of his relative on P. Burgos Street, Barangay Poblacion 2, when he was accosted and brought to the police station.

Santillan resisted at first causing a commotion but was overpowered by the arresting officers.

"Nipauli ni siya kay namista taga diha iyang kapuyo, enjoy sa pagpangumbira oi! tagay as-in enjoy kaayo, wala siya magdahom nga dunay maka-ila, namay-ungan sa atong tawo hinungdan nga napusasan (He went home to attend a fiesta celebration as his live-in partner was living there, enjoying the food and drinks, without expecting that somebody would recognize him, leading to his arrest)," Cabagnot said.

Lieutenant Colonel Ardioleto Cabagnot, chief of the Carcar City Police Station, told SunStar Cebu that the suspect has been hiding in Negros Island since after he stabbed dead his neighbor in 2017.

Cabagnot said the suspect was arrested by virtue of the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Joy Redoble of Carcar City RTC7 Branch 77 dated September 26, 2019, with no bail recommended for his temporary liberty.

It was learned that Santillan got angry at the victim, who was also his friend, when the latter accused Santillan's brother-in-law of stealing his rooster.

The victim also told Santillan to tell his brother-in-law to return the rooster that he stole.

While the victim was riding a motorcycle towards Ocaña public market, Santillan asked him to pull over and borrow P20 from him.

As he was about to give the money to Santillan after getting it from his pocket, the suspect stabbed him several times, resulting in his death.

Santillan immediately fled to Negros island along with his live-in partner. (GPL, TPT)
