City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) Davao City ensures accessible services in assisting all Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) as soon as they ask for help.

“As much as possible mahatag nato mas accessible ang atoang mga services, dili sila mapasa-pasa, kay mao gyud ni ang isa nga gap in providing services, kanang ipasa-pasa sila like asa man gyud sila moadto, kinsa man ang mo-assist sa ilaha, unsang serbisyo ang madawat nila (As much as possible we will make our services accessible to them. They do not need to jump from one office to another and won’t need to be passed from one person to another),” Rosevic Joey Jayme, CSWDO OFW Coordinator said.

However, Jayme said OFWs who seek assistance must also be aware of the requirements for them to avail of the services.

“Unsa ang mga eligibility or qualifications kay basin nagreklamo sila nga wala sila naka-avail (They should also know about the eligibility and requirements because they might complain that they were not able to avail of our services) but they don’t know what are the requirements or unsa ba gyud ang kinahanglan aron makaavail ana nga serbisyo (what they need to comply with to avail of the services),” Jayme said.

Through the OFW Families’ Welfare and Crisis Center, they will be able to properly coordinate the needs of the OFWs between different offices.

“Through our office, ma-coordinate nato kung unsa ba gyud ang iyahang panginlahanon ug unsa ang appropriate services nga mahatag nato sa iyaha ug kinsa ang ahensya nga makatabang sa iyaha kay (we will be able to coordinate properly the needs of the OFWs and determine the appropriate services for them and who or what agency would help them),” Jayme said.

According to Jayme, 49 documented and undocumented clients have been served and ten of them were given emergency financial assistance, some were part of their livelihood program. Also, two OFWs' dead bodies were repatriated and given burial assistance.

As of today, Jayme said they are already profiling the requests they have received.

“Nagasugod pa og profiling sa mga nagalapit sa amoa kung unsa man gyud ang mga needs, matabangan pud namo og duso kung unsa gyud ang mga need pud nga pulisiya sa atong syudad nga mabuo nato ang comprehensive program for our OFW families dire sa Davao (We have started profiling of those who sought our services like knowing their needs. The data will allow us to craft a comprehensive program for OFW families in Davao City),” Jayme said. KSD
