Cokaliong-ARQ demolishes Mahayahay 2 in MCBL Season 6

The Cokaliong-ARQ pushed its winning streak to a remarkable four games after demolishing the Mahayahay 2, 85-60, in the Metro Cebu Basketball League Season 6 last Saturday at the Alta Vista Golf & Country Club basketball court.

Perimeter deadshot Chaz Cokaliong scored all 24 of his points from beyond the three-point arc, draining eight triples to help lead Cokaliong-ARQ to a perfect 4-0 record in Group C.

Former University of the Visayas star Jerome Napao had 13 points and 11 rebounds, while renowned businessman Chase Cokaliong added nine, all of which came from rainbow country.

In other games, Sentra Plastics of businessman Richard Mercado won its second in a row with a 105-75 rout of Homesourced. Clint Dalaguit led the way for Sentra with 17 points and six rebounds, Roger Caytuna added 15 and 10 boards, Kyrie Bauzon produced 14 markers and eight boards, while Ralph Belarmino chipped in 12 for Sentra, which now has a 2-0 mark in Group B.

In other games, Artera Builders won over Fine Droplets, 76-70. Martie Anabieza led the way for the winning side with 13 points while big man Kenneth Niones had 10 points and 12 boards.

RMA Cargo got past Jade & Jay, 58-47, thanks to the game-high 17 points of Jericho Cortes and the 12 of James Villafuerte. Aquila Transport Services trounced Shuriken, 94-85, as Jerwin Espina had 23 points.

Last season’s runners-up, Angel Mary Pawnshop, also defeated the Enemiez, 74-58. Keanu Petallar was at the forefront of Angel Mary’s balanced scoring attack with 13 points while Rickymar Berdin had 10.

TSO took down Smarties Apparel, 95-75, behind the awesome twosome of Charles Sicad who fired in 28 points and Archie Buscay who had 26 markers and nine boards.
