ONE person was dead, while another eluded arrest during a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, that resulted in the seizure of P61.2 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu).
The Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) said the drug bust led to an armed encounter after the suspects resisted arrest.
Killed in the clash was Joe Marie Ordiales, while his cohort, Arturo Santos, eluded arrest.
The operation was conducted in Barangay Don Galo by PDEG together with the elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Parañaque police.
Seized during the operation were more or less nine kilos of shabu.
The PDEG said the suspects are well-known distributors of illegal drugs who have links with other drug syndicates in the country.
“They’re modus is discreetly concealing illegal drugs on humidifiers, air fryers and other appliances,” it said.
