SOME 4,000 local jobs are up for grabs during the Independence Day fair of the Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas (DOLE 7) dubbed the 2022 Kalayaan Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Job and Business Fairs.
The positions are available in the provinces of Cebu and Negros Oriental, where 31 participating employers have posted vacancies for the Kalayaan job fairs on Sunday, June 12, 2022.
In Cebu, almost 2,800 job vacancies are available, and job seekers are invited to join the fair at the ground floor of Robinsons Galleria Cebu in Cebu City.
In Negros Oriental, the venue for the job fair is the Lamberto Macias Complex Center in Dumaguete City, the DOLE 7 said.
Among the vacancies posted are those for customer service representatives, technical support representatives and advisers, financial support advisers; cashiers, customer assistants, baggers; clerks, casino dealers, cooks, waiters, room attendants, masons and carpenters.
“These job fairs are open to all unemployed, skilled and unskilled workers, fresh college graduates, graduates of training institutions, displaced workers and employees seeking advancement,” said Undersecretary and DOLE 7 Director Victor A. del Rosario.
“During the jobs fair, applicants should carefully select vacancies suited to their qualifications. The employers, on the other hand, could interview and hire on the spot qualified workers,” del Rosario said.
Applicants must pre-register online at bit.ly/Register-DOLERO7-JobFair and be ready with their updated resume and curriculum vitae, bio data, 2x2 picture, certificate of employment (if available), diploma/transcript of records, and authenticated birth certificate, the department said.
The event will also have components such as the DOLE Clinic and the one-stop-shop services of the DOLE’s partner-agencies like the Department of Trade and Industry, National Bureau of Investigation, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Pag-Ibig Fund, Philippine Health Insurance Corp., Philippine Postal Corp., Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Professional Regulation Commission, Philippine Statistics Authority, Social Security System, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
Last May 1, the Labor Day TNK job and business fairs saw more than 70 applicants hired on the spot both in Cebu and Negros Oriental, DOLE 7 said.
The Philippines celebrates its 124th Independence Day, or liberation from foreign rule, on June 12, on which occasion, del Rosario said, Filipinos should also “continue liberating ourselves from poverty and unemployment.”
