A MAN who works as an aide in a trucking company has been earning extra income by allegedly selling illegal drugs on the side.

However, suspect Jhinray Rañoa Morales, who reportedly can dispose of 100 grams of shabu every week, can no longer earn extra money after he was caught in a drug bust in Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City, Cebu on Saturday evening, June 11, 2022.

Morales, 34, yielded 35 grams of shabu worth around P238,000 after he was caught by the anti-narcotics unit of the Talisay City Police Station at 6:51 p.m.

Before the arrest happened, the city police drug unit had received information from its confidential informants about the suspect’s involvement in selling illegal drugs. A surveillance followed and confirmed Morales’ illegal activities, thus the plan for the buy-bust operation was hatched in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas.

Morales was reportedly cautious in dealing with his customers, especially those who were still new to him. However, his wariness failed to protect him from being arrested Saturday night.

He will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which punishes the selling and possession of illegal drugs.
