LAST Wednesday, June 8, 2022, GMA Network released the latest teaser of its upcoming primetime series Lolong, drawing excitement and praise from viewers and netizens.

Dubbed as this year’s biggest primetime action-adventure series, Lolong is bannered by Kapuso Action-Drama Prince Ruru Madrid.

The latest teaser not only gave a sneak-peak of action-packed scenes viewers can look forward to when the latest primetime offering from GMA Public Affairs premieres this July, it also revealed more actors expected to play special roles in Lolong’s (Ruru) life.

Fans were definitely surprised to catch veteran actress Gina Pareño in one of the scenes with Ruru where she is seen giving Lolong advice.

“Ang tunay na bayani, ginagamit ang lakas para sa kabutihan ng marami,” Gina’s character tells Lolong.

Also seen in the teaser were character actors Ryan Eigenmann and Mon Confiado seeming to wage war against a group of what they called “Atubaw.”

Who or what are Atubaws, is yet to be revealed but from the other scenes, Ruru’s character is seen to have the ability to have his wounds heal faster.

On social media, Ruru shared his excitement to finally share with his fans his latest project with the Kapuso Network.

“Goosebumps! Di na ako makapagintay na mapanood ang Lolong!” he tweeted.

Netizens also shared his enthusiasm, saying that like Ruru, they can’t wait to watch the series.

Last year, GMA announced the actors comprising the powerhouse cast of Lolong. Joining Ruru as leading ladies are his co-Sparkle artists Shaira Diaz and Arra San Agustin. Also part of the announced cast are Christopher de Leon, Jean Garcia, Bembol Roco, Malou de Guzman, Rochelle Pangilinan, Paul Salas, Maui Taylor, Ian De Leon, DJ Durano, Marco Alcaraz, and Mikoy Morales. Set to portray special roles as well are Leandro Baldemor and Priscilla Almeda.

A crocodile-themed action-adventure drama series, Lolong centers on a man’s extraordinary friendship with a giant crocodile named Dakila

Dakila is made of fiberglass body and silicone skin. The production team uses pneumatic technology and an air compressor to operate Dakila. Computer-generated imagery (CGI) will also be used to make the creature more realistic.

Directing Lolong are Rommel Penesa and Rado Peru.
