CEBUANO medalists in the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games were welcomed by the Cebu City Government and the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) with a Grand Homecoming at the City Wing Atrium, SM Seaside City Cebu on Saturday afternoon, June 11, 2022.

The 31st edition of the sporting conclave was held in Hanoi, Vietnam this year where Team Philippines finished fourth place overall with 52 gold medals, 70 silvers and 105 bronzes.

Present in the homecoming were Cebu’s pride Pearl Cañeda, Wilbert Aunzo, Elreen Ando, Lois Kaye Go, Alexis Sy, Raven Alcoseba and Kim Remolino.

Cebuano stars June Mar Fajardo, Cherry Rondina, Rubilen Amit, Rheyjey Ortouste, Roger Pogoy and Angelo Marquez were also feted but were not able to attend the activity.

In a recorded message, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez and commissioner Ramon Fernandez congratulated the Cebuano athletes for bringing honor to the country in the recent SEA Games.

Fernandez hopes that the next City administration can continue to work with the CCSC for the development of athletes and grassroots programs.

Also present during the homecoming event were CCSC chairman John Pages, former CCSC chairman Edward Hayco and the Cebu Dancesport Team C.
