OUTGOING Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio confirmed that her predecessor, outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo won't be able to attend her oath taking on June 19.

"Nag-confirm nga dili siya maka-attend (The one who confirmed that she cannot attend) because of the Naga Charter Day, which will happen on the same weekend is Vice President Leni Robredo," Duterte-Carpio said in an interview on 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio Monday, June 13.

The mayor, during an ambush interview right after the celebration of the 124th Philippine Independence at Davao City Hall Complex on Sunday morning, June 12, said her team had invited Robredo, the presidential rival of her running mate and now President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr.

Marcos, on the other hand, has not yet confirmed his attendance in the inauguration. He is slated to have his oath taking on June 30 at the National Museum in Manila.

The incoming Vice President's father, Outgoing President Rodrigo Duterte, who has been returning to the city for the past weeks, has not yet also confirmed if he will be attending.

As of now, the mayor revealed that only former President and incoming Pampanga Second District Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has confirmed to attend the former's oath taking.

Other former presidents and vice presidents, whom she did not disclose, were also invited to her oath taking at the intersection of San Pedro Street and Bolton Street.

Also invited are some ambassadors that the Davao City government had worked with, some local government officials in neighboring cities and provinces all over the country, and barangay captains, deputy mayors, and City Government department heads in Davao City.

Robredo has not yet issued a formal statement, disclosing her reason for not attending.

The oathtaking will be at the intersection of San Pedro Street and Bolton Street. The event will start with a thanksgiving mass from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by the inaugural ceremony from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Musikahan-Pasasalamat from 6 p.m. onwards.

Meanwhile, Duterte-Carpio said that a face-to-face meeting with Robredo is not included in her schedule, considering that their respective team had already met on June 3.

Robredo along with her chief-of-staff Usec. Philip Dy welcomed the transition team of Duterte-Carpio at the Quezon City Reception House.

The Davao mayor's team was led by City Administrator Lawyer Zuleika Lopez and Human Resources and Management Office (HRMO) Head Lemuel Ortonio. RGL
