OUTGOING Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno called on the city hall employees and his political allies on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, to rally behind the incoming administration of City Mayor-elect Rolando "Klarex" Uy.

Uy was proclaimed as the city mayor of Cagayan de Oro last May 10 after he garnered 157,575 votes.

In his last City Mayor's Term Report during the commemoration of Cagayan de Oro City's 72nd Charter Day on June 15, Moreno encouraged the public and the city hall employees to trust Uy.

"Hibalo ako naay mga concerns, naay mga cloud of doubt, I would call it. The cloud of doubt is hovering pero ang ako lang let us all trust one person. And that is incoming Mayor Klarex Uy," Moreno said.

"Let us all trust him. I'm sure Mayor Klarex Uy will see through that cloud of doubt, nga kanang cloud of doubt is artificial, it's just a creation of man, and it will dissipate in due time," he added.

Moreno also committed to help the incoming city mayor, saying that he knows that "leadership is not a walk in the park."

"I hope ang atong mga kauban will also help him. We cannot afford a divided City Government," Moreno said.

The outgoing city mayor also paid tribute to City Hall's bureaucracy, saying that its bureaucracy was part of his administration's achievements that received awards from the National Government, the private sector and the civil society groups.

"The challenge now is how do we ensure that teamwork and harmony will be maintained - if not enhanced and institutionalized," Moreno said.

Moreno ended his last city address by letting the public know of the role of bureaucracy in the city's success. He also expressed his gratitude and asked for their support for the next administration.

"The journey continues. Atong tabangan ang sunod nga administrasyon so that the next administration will be even better than this administration," he added. (SunStar Philippines)
