THE Pampanga Provincial Government once again conducted a medical mission---it's third---at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center on Wednesday, June 15.

The medical mission was led by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, along with several volunteer doctors and health care providers.

About 1,058 Kapampangans benefitted from the medical mission, including those with various health conditions, such as cataract, pterygium, reproductive health problems, hypertension, diabetes, kidney complications among others.

According to the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the medical mission aims to provide free healthcare services to people, especially to those with various health conditions, such as cataract, pterygium, reproductive health problems, hypertension, diabetes, kidney complications, gallstones, hemorrhoids, cysts, mass, goiter, and those who are in need of surgeries.

The governor also encouraged all Kapampangans to participate in the succeeding medical missions of the provincial government as it intends to bring the programs and services of the provincial government closer to the people especially those who are in need.

Niña Carla Cordero, a mother of a 4-year-old kid with hernia, could not hold her tears as she expressed her thanks to the Pineda administration. According to Cordero, her son–Jacob–was diagnosed with hernia at the age of 2. Jacob suffered from his condition for two years since his parents could not afford medical operations.

On June 9, with the help of Governor Pineda and Vice Governor Pineda, Jacob successfully underwent hernia surgery without any expenses.

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) was also present during the medical mission, assisting patients with registration and reactivation of their membership status.
