2 nabbed, P343,000 ‘shabu’ seized in anti-drug stings

THREE people were arrested while some P343,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police reported Thursday, June 16, 2022.

The police identified the arrested suspects as the following: Erwin Manuel, 44; Juli Harris Camlian, 29; and John Harold Dacuba, 23.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said Manuel and Camlian were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 2 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Mango Drive in Tumaga village, Zamboanga City.

Chang said seized from the two suspects were 50 grams of suspected shabu packed in four heat-sealed plastic sachets worth P340,000, boodle money consisting of 100 pieces of P1,000 bills topped with one genuine P500 as marked money.

Police Colonel Albert Larubis, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, said Dacuba was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, in Purok Dayang in Tiayon village, Ipil.

Larubis said recovered from the suspects were some P3,000 worth of suspected shabu, marked money consisting of one P500 and two P50 bills, and a disposable lighter.

The two arrested suspects were detained pending the filing of appropriate charges against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
