Lapu firm applies for wage hike exemption

THE Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in Central Visayas (RTWPB 7) has received an application for wage hike exemption from a company in Lapu-

Lapu City on Friday, June 17, 2022.

On May 24, 2022, the RTWPB 7 approved the for P31 daily wage hike in the Central Visayas, increasing the daily minimum salary for Metro Cebu workers (agricultural

and non-agricultural) called class A from P404 to P435, Class B from P366 per day to P397, and Class C from P356 to P387.

The P31 daily wage hike took effect on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.

Lawyer Evita Mendoza-Balane, officer-in-charge board secretary of RTWPB 7, however, did not reveal the name of the company that applied for an exemption.

Mendoza-Balane said that since after the approval of the P31 minimum wage hike, they have been receiving several inquiries from companies about the requirements

needed to qualify for wage hike exemption.

She said she was expecting that more companies would also submit their application for wage hike exemption once they completed the needed requirements. (PAC, TPT)
