TRANSPORTATION Secretary Arthur P. Tugade said that no pandemic and disasters may stop them from delivering projects and services to the Filipino people.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) chief made the statement when he received an award, the Order of Lakandunla with rank Bayani (Grand Cross) from President Duterte in Malacanang on Thursday.
Tugade assured that the agency will continue the big ticket projects and programs up to the last day of their term.
"We will continue up to the last day to deliver more convenient and comfortable life for every Filipino. This is the legacy I want to leave behind," he said.
Tugade said he is honored to receive the award from the president who gave his full support to the DOTR.
"Isang karangalan na mabigyan ng ganitong kalaking pagkilala ngunit hindi ko po magagawaat maisasakatuparan ang mga proyekto, programa at inisyatibo sa Kagawaran ng Transportasyon kung wala ang suporta at pagtitiwala sa akinng ating mahal na Pangulong Duterte," he said.
Tugade also expressed gratitude and shared the award to the DOTR executives and personnel.
"Sa aking mga kasamahan sa DOTR, I stand with you with pride and honor because in the past six years, we have been able to accomplish so much because of your help. Taos puso akong nagpapasalamat sa inyong lahat," he said.
The DOTR chief stressed that the Filipino people served as his inspiration in achieving the agency's goals.
"Aking ibinabahagi din ang pagkilala na ito sa ating mga kababayan. Ang mga proyekto at programang aming ginagawa ay para sa inyo mahal kong kababayan because you all serve as my inspiratin to do more as a public servant," Tugade said.
