SOME 28 drug personalities were arrested in a weeklong anti-illegal drugs operations in the region from June 6 to June 12 alone, the police regional command said Saturday, June 18, 2022.

During the seven-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (Sacleo), the police recorded an arrest of 19 drug suspects listed on the drug watch list and nine not listed drug personalities.

“We have intensified all our police operations to assure the community and public of their safety and security. However, the peace and order of every place is everybody’s concern,” said Brigadier General Bernard Banac, police regional director.

According to Banac, a total of 70.14 grams of shabu were confiscated with an estimated total value of P459,325.50.

The Leyte Police Provincial Office had the most number of arrests with 10 arrested drug personalities, followed by the Tacloban City Police Office with eight arrests, Eastern and Northern Samar Police Provincial Offices got three arrests each, Southern Leyte PPO recorded two arrests while Samar Police Provincial Office and Ormoc City Police Office recorded one arrest, respectively.

“I am calling the public to be of help in the information gathering as to the whereabouts of criminals and illegal drug users and pushers,” Banac added.

The police regional command also said that nine listed drug users voluntarily surrendered during the operations.
