SOME of Cebu’s top senior baseball players will suit up for the Mayor Mike Rama-Cebu City Baseball team in the Ormoc Open Baseball League, which fires off on June 24, 2022, in Ormoc City.
The team is composed of veteran players who once suited up for the national team or the PH Blu Boys.
Team manager John Tugot said they are thankful to Mayor Rama for giving them the chance to play and showcase their baseball prowess in Ormoc City.
He added that this is also a chance for them to somehow rekindle the spirit and passion for baseball among youths of Cebu.
“Our team will be competitive in this upcoming league. We are going to do our best to get wins,” said Tugot.
Grassroots baseball
He said after the tournament, they are planning to help out the grassroots baseball in Cebu City by conducting various training.
The Mike Rama-Cebu City Baseball team is composed of team owner Mayor Mike Rama, team manager Tugot, head coach Dionisio Bacarisas and assistant coach Sendo Sanchez.
The players are Alexis Rollon, Bryle Sario, Nelson Gabayan, Kent Louise Bacarisas, Oliver Gimena, Ryan Alec Godofredo, Marlon Cabrera, Jackson Genolaga, Vander Tabares, Ramil Guillermo, Rufford Guillermo, Hasmin Omandac, Isaac Bacarisas, Joseph Orillana, Raymond Nerosa, Luis Bacarisas, Roldan Bacarisas and Clarence Caasalan.
