Boysen, AEG, Unitec victorious in Cebu Architects Corporate Cup

Boysen Paints, AEG Building Prints, and Unitec Pipes claimed victories at the start of the Cebu Architects Basketball Club 4th Corporate Cup last Sunday at the Maria Montessori International School gym in Talamban.

Unitec took down Modern Windows, 77-63, dominating the match from the get-go until the final buzzer. Gil Dumadag led Unitec with 18 points while Mark Paradero added 16 points, five assists, and four steals. Ryan Rizarri also came up with 15 points for Unitec.

Brian Acebedo paced Modern Windows with 22 points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, AEG leaned on a strong start to defeat Island Premium Paints, 73-62. The writing was already on the wall as early as the first period which saw AEG zoom in front by 16 points, 28-12. They kept their momentum going all the way through to capture the victory.

Zach Go had 21 points and five steals to lead the way for AEG while versatile big man Bong Gabison finished with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Dexsel Caadan also had solid numbers with 10 points, five boards, and four steals.

Michael Cinco led Island Premium Paints with 20 points and nine boards.

And finally, Boysen Paints bested Buildrite, 53-43. The game was close for the first three periods but Boysen finally pulled away in the fourth to pick up the win. Chester Hinagdanan had 17 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, while Mike Judilla added 15 points and four steals.

Kim-Kim Rebosura paced Buildrite with 17 markers.
