THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) in Central Visayas clarified that the video of a weather phenomenon in San Francisco, Camotes was not a tornado.

Pagasa Visayas weather bureau chief Al Quiblat told SunStar Cebu that a thunderstorm warning has been issued in the Camotes Islands at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

He said the phenomenon, which was caught on video, was just a thick cumulonimbus cloud.

"Based sa nakita sa video, walang whirling or rotation of wind ng clouds. Therefore, dili tornado, thick cumulonimbus clouds lang," said Quiblat.
