Ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) niawhag sa mga barangays sa Martes, Hunyo 21, 2022, sa pagpalig-on sa registration system sa local domestic workers o katabang sa pagpanalipod sa ilang batakang katungod isip usa ka pwersa sa pamuo.
Si DILG Secretary Eduardo Año nagkanayon nga ubos ang nagparehistro nga katabang nga giilang “kasambahays,” diin naa lang sa 3,359 gikan sa 42,000 ka mga barangay sa nasod.
Matod niya nga timailhan kini sa wala pagtuman sa probisyon sa Republic Act (RA) 10361 o “Domestic Workers Act” o “Batas Kasambahay.”
Ubos sa pagpatuman sa Rules and Regulation of RA 10361, ang punong barangays (village chiefs) mao ang responsable sa pagparehistro sa kasambahay sud sa iyang hurisdeksiyon.
Ang employer mopa-enroll sa kasambahay sa SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-Ibig.
“There is more work to be done in the barangays in imploring better kasambahay registration turnout only. We direct our Punong Barangays (PBs) to be more proactive in instituting a registration system for our helpers as it is critical to ensuring that they are accorded the full protection of the law,” matod ni Año.
“With the care and service they [kasambahays] provide to households, especially to parents and their children, domestic workers deserve safe and healthful working conditions,” dugang niya.
Si Año nipasabot sa kaimportante sa pagpanalipod sa kaayohan sa kasambahays ug proteksiyon kanila gikan sa bisan unsang matang sa pangabuso sa iyang agalon.
Kutob sa Hunyo 7, 32,902 ang kasambahays nga narehistro sa tibuok nasod, gikan sa 28,149 ka mga barangay nga naghimo sa ilang Kasambahay Desk ug 28,074 ka mga barangay, dunay designated Kasambahay Desk Officer.
Ang DILG nagkanayon nga ang 977 ka local government units nipasar og ordinansa ug resolusyon sa pagpatuman sa Batas Kasambahay. (SunStar Philippines)
