High-leaping Filipino wingman Kobe Paras will be playing for Altiri Chiba after suiting up for Niigata Albirex BB in Japan’s B.League last season.

The 24-year old thanked his former team for the opportunity he was given last season.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Altiri Chiba. Thank you to the management, team sponsors and the coaches for giving me a chance to play in Japan again,” said the Gilas stud and former Fighting Maroon in a statement.

“I’m excited to go back and be a part of the team. I can’t wait to meet my teammates and see all the Altiri Chiba fans in the games this upcoming season,” Paras added.

Paras had a decent debut in the B.League, averaging 8.24 points, 2.06 rebounds, and 1.20 assists in just over 21 minutes of action per game for Niigata Albirex. However, his team struggled to get wins, finishing with a meager 7-45 win-loss record.

Paras will now be looking to do what he can to help an Altiri Chiba squad that recently got bumped up to the league’s second division. With import Leo Lyons leading the way, the team posted a 36-7 mark and placed second in the third division. They also defeated Tryhoop Okayama in the battle for promotion to earn a spot in the second division.
