3,000 Tupad beneficiaries get salary payout

SOME than 3,000 Tulong Panghanapbuhay Sa Ating Disadvantaged /Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program beneficiarie have already received their salaries from the Provincial Government of Pampanga and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, along with Third District Board Members Rosve Henson and Atty. Ananias Canlas Jr., and several officials and staff of DOLE and PESO distributed P4,200 each to beneficiaries in the pay-out held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.

The governor thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for his continued support and response to the economic needs of the Kapampangans through DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III.

Tupad is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and unemployed indigents.

Under the program, each beneficiary is hired to work for a minimum of 10 days with a daily pay based on the prevailing minimum wage.

Each will be provided protective clothing and headgear and enrolled for insurance coverage with the Government Service Insurance System covering the entire duration of their work program.

Tupad is a DOLE program that provides temporary employment to displaced, underemployed and seasonal workers.

The work of such beneficiaries under the Tupad program will revolve around social, economic, and agroforestry community projects.
