THE Bureau of Local Government Finance—Region III has cited the Angeles LGU led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi Lazatin Jr. as “Top 1” among all cities in Central Luzon in 2019, 2020 and 2021 for its revenue generation.

The BLGF-RIII has accorded three plaque of achievements to the Angeles LGU under the leadership of Mayor Lazatin for consistently having generated the “Highest Nominal Locally Sourced Revenues.” In 2019, the Angeles City government generated P1,635,704,929.07 revenue; P1,604,635,856.24 in 2020; and P1,524,077,468.82 in 2021.

The billions of pesos in locally sourced revenues had been generated under the administration of Lazatin even at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic enforcing a business-friendly atmosphere and setting aside tax increase.

OIC-Treasurer Jennifer Castro has received the BLGF-R3 awards on Wednesday at the Subic Grand Harbour Hotel, in Subic Zambales from BLGF Regional Director Divina M. Corpuz.

Corpus has also cited the Angeles LGU as “Top 3” “among all cities in Central Luzon for obtaining a 11 percent Year-on-Year Growth in Locally Sourced Revenues for FY 2019.”

The Angeles LGU ranks 6th in the National Level (2020) in terms of revenue generation.

Lazatin has lauded the efforts of retired City Treasurer Juliet Quinsaat and the Treasurer’s Office in ensuring a no-nonsense collection of revenues in the past three years amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lazatin and his team have achieved efficient collection of locally sourced revenues during his first term under a policy of “no tax increase” which was widely welcomed by Angeles-based entrepreneurs. (PR/Angeles City Information Office)
