2 Davao graduates top architecture board exam

TWO graduates from Davao universities made the list of topnotchers during the June 2022 Architecture Licensure Examination.

Based on the official results released by the Professional Regulation Commission on Wednesday, June 22, the topnotchers are Julius Benedict Brillante from the University of the Philippines-Mindanao (UP-Min) and Danisse Jaharra Marañon from the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU).

Brillante landed in the third spot with a rating of 81.80 percent and Marañon placed 10th with an 80.90 percent rating. They are two of the 14 topnotchers in the architect board exam wherein the Top 1 came from the Iloilo Science and Technology University.

According to a statement released by UP-Min, Brillante was also the magna cum laude of the architecture program in 2018.

On the other hand, AdDU ranked fifth out of five top-performing schools with 50 or more examinees with at least 80 percent passing percentage. AdDU earned an 84.21 percent rating wherein 80 examinees passed out of 95 takers.

The University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City is the top-performing school with a rating of 97.01 percent.

UP-Min, on the other hand, had a 100 percent passing rate from all 31 examinees - 30 were first-timers and one was a repeat taker.

Other Davao universities, namely the University of Mindanao in Davao City (UM-Davao City) and the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) earned 66.23 percent and 50 percent ratings respectively.

Out of 151 exam takers from UM-Davao City, 122 were first-timers and 29 were repeaters. Of this, 100 takers had passed the exam.

UIC had two examinees, both of which were first-timers but only one had passed, earning them a performance rate of 50 percent.

Overall, 3,037 examinees out of 4,766 total passed the Architecture Licensure Examination. ICM
