IN LINE with its Information Education and Communication campaign, the local government of Daanbantayan in northern Cebu has distributed television sets to each of the 149 puroks in the 20 barangays to educate the people on issues involving calamities, health, environment, education and peace and order.
The distribution was done during the orientation on pre-disaster risk assessment, rapid damage assessment and needs analysis and post-disaster needs assessment done by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in the chosen purok beneficiaries.
Daanbantayan Mayor Sun Shimura said the 149 puroks are active in their campaign on issues involving health, environment and disaster, among others.
Shimura believes the program would widen the knowledge of the constituents and promote citizen empowerment. (ANV, TPT)
