SOME 800 students from this town received their scholarship grants from the Provincial Government of Pampanga as part of the Educational Financial Assistance Program (EFAP) of Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda.

Pineda personally handed the cheques of each of the beneficiaries in simple ceremonies held at the Guagua National Colleges. Each student received P4,000 in assistance. The EFAP provides financial assistance to indigent students to help them defray school-related expenses. The program covers scholars in college as well as senior high school.

The governor added that aside from the EFAP, the provincial government assists out-of-school youth and other underprivileged Kapampangans get good education through the Alternative Learning System. The provincial government had also given out some P6,184,000 financial assistance to Alternative Learning System learners (ALS) for 2021 alone. Total assistance given to ALS learners in the last three years of Pineda’s term has reached P9,330,000.

“These programs go hand-in-hand with our health projects so each Kapampangan could live a decent life,” he said.

Pineda's administration believes that the future of the province and families are in the hands only of highly educated youth.
