5 fresh titles on Netflix this July

The titles just keep on coming! Now approaching the middle of the year, Netflix is releasing yet another batch of movies and television series to keep global audiences entertained from the comforts of their own homes.

Here is a quick rundown of the five titles worth checking out on the streaming service this July (all dates subject to change without prior notice):

“Stranger Things 4: Volume 2” (July 1)

The show that kicked off the world’s fascination with the ‘80s into overdrive is coming closer to its eventual, epic ending. Will El beat her greatest enemy in Vecna? Catch the wrap-up of the second-to-the-last season of “Stranger Things” to start the month. This series follows the story of a group of young friends who witness supernatural forces and secret government exploits.

“The Sea Beast” (July 8)

In this animated feature film from Netflix, a young British girl of color stows away on a ship to find adventure hunting sea beasts. Brought to audiences by director Chris Williams (“Big Hero 6”), “The Sea Beast” is an action-packed, sea adventure with themes of respect for nature and loads of family-friendly humor.

“The Gray Man” (July 22)

Expect nothing but the best in this American action thriller directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. Headlined by Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, “The Grey Man” is the most expensive film ever made by Netflix with a production budget of $200 million.

“Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight” (July 14)

Get a dose of Jack Black back as the “Po” the “Dragon Warrior” in all 11 episodes of this new Netflix animated series, “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight.” According to Netflix: “Po must leave his home to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice that finds him partnered up with a no-nonsense English knight named Wandering Blade (voiced by Rita Ora).”

“Uncoupled” (July 29)

Sit back, relax and enjoy this new romantic-comedy series starring Neil Patrick Harris. “Uncoupled” follows the story of Michael (Harris), whose 17-year marriage falls apart when his husband just quits on him. The first season has eight episodes.
