Peterly’s Seafood Trading outlasted the powerhouse San Remigio Properties, 77-75, to emerge as the champion of the inaugural CMDC Basketball League last Saturday at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.

Showing nerves of steel, Peterly’s built an 11-point lead, 77-66, with just 2:09 remaining in the championship match. San Remegio tried to stage a comeback and pulled to within five, 72-77, but they couldn’t get over the hump until the final buzzer when Robert Intrampas scored a three-pointer for the final tally.

Rovelo Robles led Peterly’s with 22 points while Paulo Dalumpines—who was named the Finals MVP— added 20 markers. James Enriquez pitched in 14 markers to help head coach Leode Garcia add another title to his trophy case.

San Remigio, which led by double-digits early on but fell apart late in the fourth, got 15 points from Romer Gonzaga and 14 from Luther Leonard. The missing piece, though, was the play of Season MVP Emmanuel Villamor, who scored just six points.

Robles and Villamor was also part of the tournament’s Mythical Five, which also had Zylle Cabello of Market Global Cebu Industries, Jarey Ceniza of Truck ‘N Trail Transport Services Inc – Lycans, and Alexander Ellar of Apple One Properties.
