ABOUT P1.5 million worth of properties turned to ashes when a fire hit a house and damaged two others at Barangay Villamonte in Bacolod City at about 7 a.m. yesterday, June 29.
Reports from the city’s Bureau of Fire Protection showed that the fire originated from the two-storey residence owned by Adela Penaflorida along Maso Street in the barangay’s Purok 7.
The fire then spread through the nearby residences of Ma. Trinidad Alfonso and Gertrudes Quebrar.
Resident Sharrah Mae Avila, 30, sustained minor burns on her left hand while Imar Drilon, 36, had abrasions on the left shoulder and laceration on the left foot.
The fire, believed to have been triggered by an overheated electrical installation at the room occupied by Jose Marie Abrico, was put out at about 8 a.m.
Investigation is ongoing.*
