A minor reshuffling at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) was implemented by its director Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, affecting four police officials effective June 27, 2022.

Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of BCPO, said yesterday, June 30, that Captain Randy Tapang, deputy chief of the Mobile Patrol Unit (MPU), will occupy the post of Police Station 9 commander Major Junji Liba, who is set to lead the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO).

While waiting for his order from the new administration at the city government, he said, Liba was temporarily designated as the deputy chief of the Traffic Management Unit (TMU).

He added that Liba was eyed by the administration of Mayor Alfredo Benitez to lead the BTAO.

Gabana said City Mobile Force Company head Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico also swapped posts with Police Lieutenant Colonel Edel Jose Manzano, who is the current head of MPU.

He said it’s only a minor reshuffling and it’s normal to be reassigned to other units or stations.*
