Liloan cityhood, Camotes airport among Duke Frasco’s priorities

CEBU Representative Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco (Cebu, Fifth) filed several proposed measures during the first hour of the 19th Congress on Thursday noon, June 30, 2022, including a house bill (HB) that will convert his hometown, Liloan, into a component city.

Aside from the proposed Liloan Cityhood bill, Frasco also filed HB 103 which will establish a domestic commercial airport in the town of San Francisco, Camotes Islands.

He also filed HB 104, which seeks to declare the privately-owned Cebu Safari and Adventure Park in Carmen town as a nationally-recognized tourist spot and to appropriate funds for that purpose.

Frasco also filed HB 101, whick seeks to increase compensation and provide other benefits to barangay health workers (BHWs).

Other bills he filed are HB 100 which seeks the establishment of dialysis clinics in all national, regional and provincial hospitals and to provide free dialysis treatments to indigent patients; HB 102 which seeks to regulate the sale of caskets by funeral establishments to ensure availability of affordable caskets; HB 105 which seeks to declare the Santiago Public Beach in San Francisco, Camotes Islands as a tourist destination; and HB 107 which seeks to upgrade the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Danao City into a Level 2 general hospital, increase its bed capacity and upgrading its professional health care services and facilities

Frasco also filed House Resolution 1, expressing strong support for Executive Order 16, series of 2022 issued by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia rationalizing the wearing of face masks making it optional in well-ventilated and open spaces within the Province of Cebu.

Records at the Bills and Index Services of the House of Representatives showed that Frasco filed his proposed measures between 12 noon and 1 p.m. of June 30. (JKV, PR)
