Foreigners yield P3.4-M worth of illegal drugs

FIVE foreign nationals were arrested by authorities during a buy-bust operation launched in Paranaque City on Thursday afternoon.

The suspects were identified as alias Stephen, 76, married, Chinese and resident of 13A St. John Street New Tensuan Site; alias Wei, 47, single, Taiwanese, a resident of 1711 Adriatico Malate Manila; alias Wai, 56, married, a resident of Hongkong; alias Liu, male and a tenant of Marina Seaview Residences, Parañaque City; and alias Lele, male, also a tenant of Marina Seaview Residences, Parañaque City.

The operation, which was jointly conducted by operatives led by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Central Luzon, PDEA-NCR, PDEA-SES, Paranaque police and SPD DEU-DID, was a product of month long casing and surveillance.

The arrested suspects yielded one blue box labeled Traditions Chest containing around 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrocholoride (shabu) amounting to P3,450,000, the marked money used by the poseur buyer, and other personal belongings.

Violation of section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) in relation to section 26 B (conspiracy to sell drugs) of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the arrested suspects.
