Zubiri swears in Maglanque

A few weeks before his expected official leadership of the Senate, Senator Migz Zubiri on Friday administered the oath taking of reelected Mayor Rene Maglanque of this town.

Zubiri, who is poised to be the next Senate President, personally visited this town for Maglanque’s oath-taking ceremony which was held at San Andres Apostol Parish in the Poblacion area.

In his speech, Zubiri stressed his friendship between and his admiration of Maglanque’s leadership which led this municipality to further development.

“Magaling si Mayor Rene at mas kampante ako magbaba ng tulong dito sa Candaba dahil may partner tayo dito,” he said.

The incoming senate president also vowed to bring funds for the construction of another school building at the Don Honorio Ventura State University here.

Maglanque, for his part, expressed gratitude to Zubiri for leading his oath-taking rites as he officially serves his second term.

He said his strong relationship with several national and local leaders will equate to several programs and projects for the benefit of Candabeños.

Aside from Zubiri, Mayors’ League of the Philippines and Narvacan City, Ilocos Sur Mayor Chavit Singson, fourth district Representative Anna York Bondoc, former Representative Juan Pablo “Rimpy” Bondoc and Masantol Vice Mayor Danilo Guintu also graced the inauguration rites of Maglanque and other Candaba officials.

“Masaya kami dito sa Candaba na marami ang nagtitiwala sa aming pamumuno at kasabay ng tiwala nila ay ang pagtulong sa atin sa mga programa at proyekto katulad ng pangakong school building ni Senator Migz Zubiri na siguradong pakikinabangan ng maraming estudyante dito sa Candaba at katabing bayan namin,” he said.

Maglanque also stressed some of his priorities in his second term of office such as advancing the needs of local farmers and connecting the municipality to other towns and cities via a new bypass road to attract more tourists and investors.

Meanwhile, aside from Maglanque, Vice Mayor Resty Sibug and councilors Thelma Macapagal, RamJ Maglanque, Nelson Alonzo, Maine Santiago , Jao Bondoc, Cha Manarang, Quenie Culala, and Rey Neil Baylon also took their oath of office which was administered by Bondoc.
