A 50-YEAR-OLD puto vendor was injured in a shooting incident at his house in Sitio Luna, Barangay Lagtang, City of Talisay, Cebu on Saturday afternoon, July 2, 2022.

Police Officer 1 Ariel Balde, investigating officer of Talisay City Police Station, identified the victim as Jose Ronaldo Todacio Coronel of Barangay Lagtang, City of Talisay, Cebu.

Balde said around 1 p.m. Saturday, the wife of the victim Ermelinda personally appeared at their station to report the shooting incident and told police that her husband was admitted to the Cebu South Medical Center.

Based on the account of the victim, around 12:40 p.m Saturday, while he was walking on the pathway toward his house, two suspicious individuals followed him.

Coronel then heard a gunshot behind him. When he looked back, the suspects pointed guns at him.

The victim tried to run but was hit by a bullet in the back of his thigh that exited his penis.

He managed to jump off a dike and hid inside the house of his friend.

Coronel's friend immediately called the assistance of barangay tanods who immediately rushed Coronel to Cebu South Medical Center for medical attention.

Balde said that Coronel is already in a stable condition but needs operation.

The victim said he has no idea who did the crime as he had no known enemies.
