STATION 2 policemen are still facing a blank wall as to the motive behind the shooting to death of a hog raiser in Bacolod City on Saturday, July 2.

Case investigator Colporal Rustum Sayson said they don’t have leads yet as to the identity of the suspect behind the killing of Geory Adeva of Purok Tumpok in the city’s Barangay Handumanan.

Investigation showed that Adeva was driving his motorcycle and was about to make a turn at 18th Street in Barangay 5 past 7 p.m. when the gunman who was also on a motorcycle shot him at close range.

After falling into the pavement, the gun man shot him again and fled towards an undisclosed location, Sayson said.

Witnesses claimed that they heard the gunman saying, “katapusan mo na subong nga adlaw (this is your last day)” before he shot the victim at least five times.

Adeva sustained five gunshot wounds in the head and died on the spot, while five empty shells of an unknown caliber of firearm were recovered from the crime scene, police records showed.

Sayson said Adeva’s family claimed that they last saw him alive at about 5 p.m. behind the L’ Fisher hotel and probably he was already on his way home when he was shot.

He said that the victim had not received any threats prior to incident.

The only hope right now for police station 5 to identify the suspect is through the videos captured by surveillance cameras in nearby establishments, Sayson added.

It was not establish however if the gunman’s face was covered since the area where the shooting happened was not well-lighted.

Meanwhile, a businessman was injured when his neighbor shot him on the feat of their argument over a drainage system at Villa Angles Subdivision in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City about 10 p.m. Friday, July 1.

Case investigator Senior Master Sergeant Raymond Bandojo identified the victim as Rodger Hofilena, 41.

Hofileña sustained a gunshot wound on his back and is now being treated at the Metro Bacolod Hospital and Medical Center.

The suspect Andrew Prudenciado, 46, fled on a motorcycle following the incident.
