A 69-year-old farmer was injured after being beaten by his son in Barangay Kanghumaod, Dumanjug town in southwest Cebu on Sunday evening, July 3, 2022.
Corporal Marlou Sentillas, investigating officer of Dumanjug Police Station, said that the victim Pablo Blanca Tuto and his son Esmeraldo, 39, were having an argument
when the incident took place around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Sentillas said that Esmeraldo got a pipe and hit his father's head with it at the height of their argument.
The victim was rushed to Barili District Hospital after sustaining a wound on his head.
Sentillas said the suspect was under the influence of liquor at the time of the incident.
It was learned that the two were always bickering with one another prior to the incident.
The father said he is determined to file a case against his son as he could not bear anymore his abuses.
"Kadaghan na ni nahitabo nga permi ni pasakitan ang biktima nga papa aning suspek, napuno na ang biktima kay gibunalan naman gyud, naay intent to kill maayo kay na
ulang sa mama ug sa tabang sad sa mga kasilinganan," Sentillas said.
The suspect is currently detained at the Dumanjug Police Station and will face charges of attempted parricide. (TPT)
