REGISTRATION of voters for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) is now open but will remain open until July 23, 2022.
“Nag-start gahapon, July 4, tapos mag-end siya by July 23, so medyo ano lang sya gamay na panahon, less than a month (It started yesterday, July 4 then will end on July 23 so we only have less than a month for the registration),” Atty. Gay Enumerables, Assistant Regional Director of Commission on Elections in Davao Region (Comelec-Davao), said in an interview with the Davao City Disaster Radio on July 4, 2022.
Enumerables said people are now flocking to their office in Magsaysay Park on July 4 but they still encourage people to register before it ends.
For the SK registration, Enumerables said they must be 15 to 30 years old. But those aged 14 years old can still register if they will turn 15 on or before December 5, 2022.
Enumerables clarified that regular voters who are 18 to 30 years old can still vote for SK.
“Overlapping man gud ni siya, so duha iyahang botohan, SK and barangay (There’s an overlap, so they can vote twice for SK and barangay election),” Enumerables said.
Enumerables said registrants aged 15-17 years old should bring their school ID or library card, barangay ID as long as it has a picture, the registration form that can be downloaded from their website, and submit it to their office for personal appearance. She also said they can bring a birth certificate to ensure their information is correct.
As for the aged 18 years old and above, they are advised to bring their valid ID, registration form, and personal appearance to the Comelec office in Magsaysay Park or at the satellite registration location from Mondays to Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including holidays. KSD
