Marcos assigns official to more posts

SEVERAL new officials under the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. took their oath of office on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

Marcos led the oath-taking of the following officials:

* Tirso Cruz III as chairperson and chief executive of Film Development Council (FDC)

* Junie Cua as chairperson of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO)

* Antonio Manuel Lagdameo as the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the United Nations

* Mark Lapid as the Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority

* Romeo Lumagui Jr. as the Deputy Commissioner for operations of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)

* Juan Revilla as board member of Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB)

* Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez as Philippine Ambassador to United States

* Abdulghani Salapuddin as Southern Philippines Development Authority (SPDA) Administrator and Chairman

* Jose Arnulfo Veloso as the President and General Manager of Government Service Insurance System (GSIS)

* Colonel Ramon Zagala as the Presidential Security Group (PSG) Commander and Senior Military Assistant

* Amenah Pangandaman as the Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management

Lagdameo is replacing Enrique Manalo, who was designated as the foreign affairs secretary of the new administration.

Romualdez, Marcos’ second cousin, has been in the post since July 2017, after he was appointed by former President Rodrigo Duterte.

On Monday, July 4, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said Marcos is already on the “final stage” of choosing more individuals who will fill up key positions in his Cabinet, including the Department of Health, Department of Energy, Department of Environment and Natural Resources and Department of Science and Technology.
